from zero to

dead snail

Exie found a dead snail being eaten by ants today. She’s been kinda’ crazy about snails lately, so she was very intrigued. I said that the snail was done with its life and the ants were taking it back to Mother Earth. (Actually, what I really said was, “… back to Earth-is-our-Mother” – that’s from a song we sing a lot.) Of course she doesn’t understand this yet, but after a while she started to softly cry because she was said for the snail. She kept going back to look at it and wanted to keep talking about it. Eventually, she said that she wanted to say goodbye to the snail, so she did, and we went inside. But she kept thinking about it for a while and some tears would come to her eye. I don’t know if I did the right thing in explaining it to her.
